When Seasons Change is a song about relationships that drift yet still hold weight and meaning in your becoming. It’s about always being there no matter how much time or distance exists between two people. It’s a song about releasing others and yourself to fly toward the dreams in your heart and live free of the past. Self-produced in her home studio Starlight Recording, this song was mixed and mastered by Emmy-nominated producer Brian Coombes.
Dobbins incorporated a variety of musical elements in this song including two guitar parts, keyboard, synths, shakers, vocal harmonies, and loops in her digital audio workstation Logic Pro X. Initially released as a Starlight Lounge (Patreon) sponsored song, Dobbins decided to make it an official release on all streaming platforms when it kept getting requested on livestreams and at live shows. The cover art is a watercolor design created by Hannah Jalovick (@HannahJPaints). Inspired by the lyric fly like a bird to the part of the world that makes you come alive, Hannah painted as she let the music move her.
